The Pasquarella Hermitage
13 kms from Baschi on the Highway 448 it's notified with a sign as "Centro escursionistico della Pasquarella". Probably founded by the Montemartes in the 11th century, it was a Camaldolese hermitage. On the apse of the little church is painted an Epiphany (Little Easter) dating back to the 15th century In the nearby dell "della Pasquarella", during October and November you can really enjoy the beauty of the mediterranean bush in all its shades: from the reddish of the field maple to the brick red of the terebinth, to the pale green of the arbutus.
Hamlets of the Teverina
Perched up the mountains dominating the eastern bank of the Tiber, there are a few nice hamlets: Scoppieto, with the church of St. Peter (11th century); Acqualoreto, built in the 10th century on a site strategically dominating (from there you could control the Forello gorges); Collelungo, with the church of S. Donato, containing a 15th century font; Morruzze, from where you can enjoy a good view as far as the Consolazione church in Todi; the church of Vagli and the hamlet of Morre are noteworthy too.
The Forello Gorge
Although the artificial lake of Corbara has changed the landscape of these gorges, we are still convinced this is the most interesting part of the Tiber.
In the upper part, at the only point where you can stop with a car, there is a protrud-ing rock you can reach going round it. From up there you might have unforgettable experiences: cormorants, ducks and herons flying low down in the gorge in autumn and winter; brown kites circling on high in summer.
Pantanelli
The convent of St. Angelo di Pantanelli is 2 kms away from Braschi and is located on the highway 448 from Baschi to Todi. St. Francis took part in its foundation (1216); in the neighborhood is the cave where the saint dwelled, and the rock on the Tiber where he spoke to the fish.
Guests of the convent were also Jacopone da Todi, who wrote here some of his lauds, among which the famous "Stabat Mater", and St. Bernardino da Siena. In the church the lords of Baschi are buried. On the high altar there's a 15th century fresco depicting a crucifixion.
